Did you know that snacks for a toddler may be more of a necessity than a treat? At this age your toddler uses up so much energy — for games and growing — that he may not be able to manage that long gap between lunch and dinner without an energy top-up in-between. Snacks needn't means crisps and sweets though: apples, bananas, flapjacks, fromage frais, a chunk of cheese — all can provide that get-up and go. It's also a good idea to make sure his diet contains plenty of whole grains, beans, fruit and vegetables so that he gets all the nutrients he needs. You'll notice his body shape changing over the next few months too; he'll gradually become more slender as his limbs and torso start to lengthen and his body proportions begin to resemble those of an adult.
